If you are under 26 and interested in running your own gallery space, Courthouse ARTS want to hear from you. The youth arts organisation is on the hunt for a creative person to curate the gallery for the 2014 season and is seeking expressions of interest from individuals or small artistic collectives, aged 12 – 26.

With support from the Courthouse ARTS team, the new Curator will be responsible for programming the venue’s gallery space for 2014, showcasing the creativity of young and emerging artists.

As part of the role it is expected that the Curator will:

  • create a 12 month program for the gallery, deciding what pieces and artists will be featured in the gallery and surrounding spaces during the year
  • regularly engage with Courthouse ARTS, artists and producers about the gallery program
  • coordinate and deliver exhibition openings and functions
  • work with the Courthouse ARTS team to create a marketing and development strategy for exhibitions which includes creating social media campaigns.

Courthouse ARTS will actively help the curator to complete their program with administrative, marketing, venue and career support available.
