If you have some time free this Sunday morning, you might like to head down to Lorne to hear the exciting news for Lorne Sculpture Biennale! Minister for the Arts, Heidi Victoria MLA, will be making an important announcement regarding Lorne Sculpture Biennale at QDOS Gallery at 11.30 am, Sunday 21st July. She will be joined by the local member for the area, Minister for Transport, Terry Mulder MLA.
Arts Victoria will award and fund a commission to a sculptor selected by the Lorne Sculpture Biennale judges for a significant sculpture to be permanently sited in Lorne. According to the organisers of the Lorne Sculpture Biennale, the value of the commission is of sufficient size to transform Lorne Sculpture Biennale into one of the most significant arts events in Victoria and Australia. (!)
A number of highly regarded sculptors will be present including Chelsea Flower Show prize winner, David Long, and Domenico de Clario. There will be sparkling wine, nibbles and the opportunity to meet Heidi Victoria and Terry Mulder as well as Surfcoast Shire Mayor Libby Coker and Lorne councillor, Clive Goldsworthy.
