Are you an illustrator from the Geelong region? Would you like to be able to share your work? The newly formed Geelong Illustrators is taking submissions for its debut exhibition to be held in mid 2013.
Geelong Illustrators is a small collective of young artists from Geelong and surrounds, offering a way for illustrative artists to collaborate and inspire through group exhibitions, meets, mutual support and crafternoons. The aim of the group is to inspire each other to high standards of creativity.
Local illustrators Morgan Connoley, Laura Alice and Jenna Ramondo formed the group after they realised that Geelong has a strong band of illustrative artists whose talents remain untapped. United by a love for inky story telling pictures and dreams of a collaborative community, they have joined forces and made plans for an exhibition in mid 2013.
Morgan Connoley says the group is inspired by the movement towards story-telling imagery with a hand-drawn feel. “It is not specific to the traditional forms of illustrative applications, but rather expresses a certain stylistic school of artwork that has recently emerged.”
So if you are interested in participating in Geelong Illustrators’ debut exhibition, you will need to act quickly – submissions close this Friday 25 January. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for a submission form or visit Geelong Illustrators on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/geelongillustrators for more details.
