With four weeks to go until Lorne Sculpture 2011 kicks off, the organisers are calling for volunteers.
Running from 15 October to 6 November, Lorne Sculpture 2011 is a three-week festival of contemporary sculpture set in the picturesque seaside hamlet of Lorne.
There will be a Sculpture Trail, featuring 40 major sculptures along the Lorne foreshore from the pier to Erskine River. A program of Indoor Sculpture will showcase a series of small artworks in shop windows. And new in 2011, the Sculpturscape will involve up to 20 artists or artist teams who will create a site-specific work over one day.
On the opening weekend, three internationally renowned performance artists, Stelarc, Jill Orr and Anastasia Klose, will create performance pieces responding to the Lorne environment.
Lorne Sculpture 2011 promises to be a great event with some renowned artists participating. Event patron, prominent contemporary sculptor Inge King, will be exhibiting along with approximately 100 artists from Australia and overseas. More information about the event is available on the Lorne Sculpture website.
