Here is another exciting oppportunity for artists in the Geelong region but you will have to be quick! Proposals are due by Monday 1 August 2011.
SUBspace are calling for artists, both established and emerging, to participate in a contemporary public art installation in the former Dimmeys building. Located at 44 Malop Street, the building will be turned into a temporary art space for the next two months. The exhibition will span all three levels of the iconic building and feature installation art, multimedia, sculpture, sound design and more. The intent of the exhibition is to create a series of artistic ‘spaces’ within the Dimmey’s warehouse – spaces that viewers can enter, interact with and experience new and varied creative effects.
The project will also include a sound art workshop for the public, with the sound works included in the exhibition.
Organised by SUB, an artist-run initiative which aims to provide opportunities and support for local artists, this exhibition forms part of SUB’s nomadic gallery project.
It is supported by the City of Greater Geelong’s Community Arts Grants Program and Courthouse Arts.
