Calling artists for the Poetic Pieces Exhibition in Aireys Festival of Words

Event organisers are calling for artists to participate in Poetic Pieces, an art exhibition  inspired by poetry, to be held at the Eagles Nest Gallery in Aireys Inlet during the Aireys Festival of Words in August.

Artworks will be inspired by one of the seven poems chosen for the exhibition. The poems, from a series of poetry chapbooks by Geelong publishing house, Whitmore Press, can be viewed on the Surfcoast Arts Facebook page. Please contact Dianne Leslie on 5289 6215 for more details.

Basic criteria for artworks:

  • Each work should be inspired by one of the seven poems chosen for the exhibition.
  • Works must be mixed media of at least two media, with a maximum size of
    65 cm x 85 cm.
  • Exhibiting artists must be Surf Coast Arts Inc. members ($10 membership fee)
  • A limit of two entries per person applies.
  • Works must be ready to hang, with hooks and wire or any other additional material required to display your work. 3D work must be accompanied by a stand or pedestal.
  • Works must be delivered to Eagles Nest Gallery on Wednesday 17 August from 10am to 12 noon.

Works will be judged by an independent expert and three prizes ($300, $200 & $100) will be awarded.
