Take Me to Disneyland by Michael Gromm

If you like your art to have a surrealist bent, then the upcoming exhibition at Metropolis Gallery will fire your imagination. takemetodisneyland features the work of Michael Gromm who paints a strangely amorphous world in which figures navigate their way through a labyrinthine, shape-shifting landscape.

Michael Gromm was short-listed for the 2008 Geelong Gallery Fletcher Jones Art Prize and the 2010 Metro Gallery Prize, and the recent paintings for his third solo show at Metropolis Gallery, takemetodisneyland, not only illustrate why he is gaining recognition, but also that he is continually pressing on and breaking new ground.

Opening night: Friday 17 June, 6–8pm with Marco Luccio.
Exhibition runs from 17 June – 2 July 2011.
