Emerge 2011 Geelong Regional Artists’ Exhibition

Are you a regional Geelong artist looking for an opportunity to showcase your work? The Gordon Gallery is now seeking applications for Emerge 2011 – Geelong Regional Artists’ Exhibition. The exhibition will run from 17 August to 2 September 2011 with the opening night on Wednesday 17 August.


  • The Gordon Gallery will accept contemporary works in any medium such as painting, printmaking, sculpture, glass, ceramics, textiles, jewellery, photography, performance art or new media.
  • Applicants must either have been born, currently live, or have resided within the boundaries of the City of Greater Geelong, the Borough of Queenscliff, Surf Coast, or Golden Plains Shires for a period of at least six months.

Successful artists will have the opportunity to exhibit between three to six works. These must be completed and available for publicity purposes by Monday 13 June 2011. One of the finalist’s works will also be selected to be acquisitioned by The Gordon Art Collection. Emerge 2011 – The Geelong Regional Artists’ Exhibition, is now in its ninth year and is an annual event on The Gordon Gallery calendar. This popular exhibition is designed to promote and celebrate the extraordinary artistic talent of our region and provides artists the opportunity to further develop their profile and artistic careers.

Applications close: Wednesday 25 May 2011.
