Do you dig design, art, construction, production and installation… if you answered yes, then this is the opportunity for you!
City of Greater Geelong is excited to announce an internship opportunity for three emerging artists to work with nationally recognised visual artist Michelle Fifer.
Michelle has worked with Handspan Theatre, Flying Fruit Fly circus, Terrapin Theatre, Patch Theatre and has a career of knowledge on public arts installation.
The CoGG Arts and Culture Department has commissioned her to create the visual component for the Orchestra Victoria Concert to be held on the Geelong waterfront on the 12 February.
Michelle has designed and created 20–30 large banners and flag. These need to be installed and de-installed by artists who want to get their hands dirty.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain invaluable experience in public art process, design, installation, construction and to be involved in putting an outstanding production together.
The Nuts and Bolts:
– be over 18 and under 25
– supply your own practical work gear including work boots, (preferably steel cap) gloves and glasses
– be available all day Friday 11 Feb and all day and all night on Saturday 12 Feb
– and, most importantly, have a practical passion in production, design and construction.
Duties: Will be the assembly, installation and de-installation of 20 to 30 flags and banners.
Your insurance will be covered by CoGG.
