The Windergarden is hosting an exhibition by students of Jill Shalless, Lianne Gough and Faye Owen. The works are mainly traditional figurative pieces but there are some more contemporary works as well. The works are surprisingly good given that some of the students have not been painting long. There are a few really outstanding pieces but unfortunately I wasn’t permitted to photograph them – you will just have to get along there to see for yourself. I did take a photo of the gallery which is a fantastic space. The historic building was built in 1854 and exudes olde world character and charm.
The exhibition finishes Monday 8th October so you will need to get your skates on if you want to see it.
PS You might like to bike ride in because all the road closures for the UCI event make travelling by car impossible during the day.
The Wintergarden is located at 51 McKillop St, Geelong. http://www.artwintergarden.com.au/
